UNITED STRUGGLING TO REACH AGREEMENT FOR VARANE

English Premier League giants Manchester United have continued to face a huge stumbling block in their attempt to sign French defender Raphael Varane from Spanish La Liga giants Real Madrid this summer. The Red Devils first made their intentions if being interested to sign the defender known some weeks ago and have since started negotiations to land the defender but there are still a few details left to be ironed out before a deal can be struck between the two clubs. United are said to have agreed personal terms with Varane over a transfer but Madrid are insistent that the English Premier League club must meet the transfer demands.

Varane is ready to move to Old Trafford after agreeing personal terms with Olé Gunnar Solksjær’s Manchester United till the summer of 2026. Real Madrid’s initial transfer fee demand was £70 million but have had it reduced to £50 million after United tabled a contract offer of £40 million (plus bonuses that could see it rise to £45 million) but Madrid have rejected the offer and are insisting that United must pay the complete £50 million fee unless they would have to look elsewhere for another defender.
